Terms and Conditions

About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions set out the basis on which Jakeman Roofing Ltd ("we", "us", "our") provides roofing services to our customers ("you", "your") across Ruislip, Harrow, Uxbridge, Northwood, Ickenham and surrounding areas.

Our details: Jakeman Roofing Ltd. Telephone: 07595 531257. Email: info@jakemanroofing.com.

By accepting a quote from us or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully. If anything is unclear, please contact us before work begins.

Our Services

We provide a range of roofing services including pitched roofs, flat roofs, bay window roofing, lead work, guttering and valleys, asphalting, fascias, roof repairs and drone inspections.

All work is carried out by our own team of experienced roofers. We do not use subcontractors.

All work is completed to industry standard using approved materials. Specific materials, systems and methods will be discussed with you as part of the quotation.

Quotes and Pricing

We aim to inspect your roof within 24 hours of your call and provide you with a free written, no-obligation quote.

Our quotes are:

• Based on the roof condition and job scope at the time of inspection
• Provided in writing so you have a clear record
• Valid for 30 days from the date of the quote, unless otherwise stated
• Inclusive of the labour and standard materials described in the quote

If, once work begins, we discover additional problems that were not visible at the time of the quote (for example rotten timbers under existing tiles), we will stop, explain the situation, and provide a revised quote before continuing. You will not be charged for additional work without your agreement.

Booking and Scheduling Work

Work is booked in once you have accepted our written quote. We will agree a date with you that fits both your schedule and ours.

We aim to complete most jobs in one day by bringing an appropriately sized team. Larger jobs, such as a full re-roof, are planned across multiple days - a typical 3-bedroom re-roof takes around 3 days.

Weather delays: roofing work is weather-dependent. If conditions on the day make work unsafe (heavy rain, high winds, ice), we may need to postpone. We will contact you as soon as possible and agree a new date. Weather delays are not chargeable and do not affect our commitments to you.

Emergency call-outs: we offer an emergency service for urgent roof repairs. Emergency work is charged at our standard rates. Where possible, small emergency repairs may be carried out at the time of our first visit.

Access and Your Property

By booking work with us, you confirm that:

• You are the owner of the property, or have the owner's permission to have the work carried out
• You will provide safe reasonable access to the property on the agreed date
• Any necessary planning permissions or consents (for example listed building or conservation area consent) are your responsibility to obtain
• You will let us know about any hazards on-site, such as unstable structures, live overhead cables or asbestos

We will treat your property with care. We remove all rubbish from the job and leave the site clean and tidy when we finish.

Payment

Payment terms will be set out on your written quote. For most standard jobs, payment is due on completion of the work.

For larger jobs, we may agree a staged payment schedule (for example a materials deposit before work begins, with the balance due on completion). Any staged payments will be clearly set out in the quote before you accept.

We accept payment by:

• Bank transfer
• Cheque made payable to Jakeman Roofing Ltd
• Cash (a receipt will be provided)

Invoices are due within 14 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Our Guarantee

We stand behind our work. All work we carry out is guaranteed against defects in workmanship for a period agreed in writing with you at the time of the quote.

Our guarantee covers:

• Defects arising from workmanship, where the work was carried out by us
• Reasonable remedial work to put right any covered defect

Our guarantee does not cover:

• Damage caused by extreme weather, storm damage or other events outside our control
• Damage from work carried out by other tradespeople after we have finished
• Wear and tear, deterioration of original roof elements outside the scope of our work, or issues arising from the age of the building
• Any changes or modifications to the work made without our knowledge

If you notice a problem with work we have carried out, please contact us at your earliest opportunity so we can assess it.

Insurance and Liability

We are fully insured, including public liability insurance appropriate to the type of work we carry out. Details are available on request.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Our total liability to you for any loss or damage arising out of a job is limited to the value of that job
• We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses (for example loss of income or loss of use)
• We are not liable for pre-existing damage to your property that is separate from the work we have carried out

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel a booked job, please contact us as soon as possible.

Your right to cancel (consumer contracts): under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, where our contract is made off-premises (for example agreed at your home), you have a 14-day right to cancel from the date of the agreement, unless you specifically ask us to begin work sooner.

If you ask us to start work within the 14-day cancellation period and then cancel, you may be liable for the cost of work already carried out and materials already ordered on your behalf.

If we need to cancel a job (for example due to circumstances outside our control), we will contact you as soon as possible and refund any payment you have made for work not yet completed.

Complaints

We take pride in our work and our reputation. If you are not happy with anything we have done, please tell us so we can put it right.

The best way to raise a concern is to contact us directly:

• By phone: 07595 531257
• By email: info@jakemanroofing.com

We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days. If we cannot agree a resolution, you may be entitled to refer the matter to an independent alternative dispute resolution provider or take legal action through the courts.

Your Personal Data

We handle personal information you give us in line with our Privacy Policy, which you should read alongside these Terms & Conditions.

By engaging our services, you agree to the collection and use of your personal data as described in that policy.

Governing Law and Changes

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version that applies to your job is the one we provide with your written quote and in force at the time you accept it. The most recent version is always published on this page.

Questions? Please contact us on 07595 531257 or info@jakemanroofing.com before accepting a quote if any part of these Terms is unclear.
